Clear water needs two things together: an active disinfectant and a pH in the right range. If the pH drifts out of range the disinfectant loses its effect no matter how much you add. So the practical rule is: measure pH first, correct it, and only then think about the disinfectant.

The order of work
- Measure pH and disinfectant with a test kit
- Correct the pH first
- Add disinfectant according to the water volume
- Check again after the water has circulated
- Treat algae only once the values are right
The quantities depend on the water volume, the temperature and how much the pool is used, so they are written for your pool rather than in general. When you buy from us we give you the numbers for your size.

Common questions
How much chlorine does a pool need?
The amount depends on the water volume, the temperature and how much the pool is used, so there is no single figure that fits every pool. It is measured with a test kit and kept within the range recommended by pool water standards. We give you the quantity worked out for your size.
Why do my eyes sting even when I add chlorine?
Usually it is not the chlorine, it is the pH being out of range. When the pH is wrong the disinfectant works poorly and the water stings. Measure the pH first.
Should I use algaecide every week?
Not as a routine. Algae appear when circulation, filtration or disinfection have fallen off. Treatment fixes the symptom; the cause is usually in the system.
